Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some peoples argue that in digital era, there is no need for theatres and cinemas while others argue that theatres and cinema is still worth for economically and also culturally.

On the first hand, in these digital era there is no need for theatres and cinemas. Due to internet public can find easily find favorite movies and every things they want to see on different websites or differents social apps like youtube netfilix at any time after invention of mobile phone now its is more easy to access your favorite movies or drama. Mobile phone has revolutionize in the industry of digital era.

On the other hand, some people argue that theatres and cinemas have their own place, people feel more satisfied to go at cinemas to watch movie and show with public or their own family or friends, because it give chance to with their friend and or spend time with theirs families. And also this is good for economy.

However, in my opinion Although cinema have their own value but in these time their is no need for cinemas for theatres, because of internet or social media public can watch drama and movie easily without taking time out, if you want to see movie in cinemas first you go buy ticket and get time then reach cinema and wait to start movie but this is no longer need because of mobile.

In conclusion, theatres is no longer need in these time watching film on mobile is more easy and confident,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the convenience of digital media, the economic and cultural arguments for cinemas are underdeveloped. The conclusion is quite brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should expand on the 'economic' and 'cultural' aspects mentioned in the prompt, providing specific examples or deeper reasoning rather than just stating they have value. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'On the first hand', 'On the other hand', 'However'). Some transitions are awkward, such as starting the final paragraph with 'In conclusion, theatres is no longer need'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'easy', and 'things'. There are also several word-choice errors and inaccuracies, such as 'every things' instead of 'everything' and 'confident' used incorrectly to mean 'convenient'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'digital era' and 'industry', but these are not always used in natural collocations. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and focus on learning the correct collocations for the words you use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some peoples argue', 'theatres is no longer need') and missing articles ('go buy ticket'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors causes some difficulty for the reader and prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors.
