Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, fulfilling the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding economic importance is vague, using the term 'stadium' incorrectly to refer to cinemas, and the explanation of cultural benefits is superficial. The position is stated in the introduction but lacks depth in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more specific, well-supported arguments rather than general statements. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'In this stadium' is confusing as it does not logically follow the previous paragraph. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'They' at the start of sentences without a clear antecedent. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'On the one hand' and 'By contrast', the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and logical gaps.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'not much crucial', 'take entertainment in any time', and 'cut ticket with high price'. The misuse of the word 'stadium' to describe a cinema venue significantly impacts the clarity of your argument. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the reliance on basic vocabulary prevent the essay from achieving a higher score. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to media and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'people has become busy', 'It tend to reduce'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they occur frequently enough to cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex sentence structures and proofread carefully to correct basic errors in verb tense and pluralization.
