Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this digital age people want entertainments like to watch movies, podcasts and other talkative shows in their spare time some people believe that cinemas and theatres play a vital role foe entertainments that facilitates to conserve out traditional and economical values , while some people contradict with this concept according to them there is no need to go cinema and theater all these activities we can watch online like social media apps like you-tube, movie-box ETC .
There is no doubt cinema and theaters gain popularity over the world but the development and growth of technology people feel that it is convenient to watch films on their comfortable zone like in their own home because they face number of difficulties to purchase tickets from counter due to crowd For instance if there is much demand for single movie people prefer to book online but when they reach the cinema they get scam by the company and break the trust between customer and seller , moreover they require fuel for travel to cinema that contributing the air pollutions .
In contrast there places play a significant role for the growth of financial budget and maintenance of culture , directors and other participants in the movie achieve benefits that indirectly contribute the growth of economical conditions, For example recently a movie Awara pan 2 was released and did a business of 23 crore, which proves to gain profit , however the primary reason is public emotions and interest to the film they prefer to watch movie in the front of big screen and wear 3D glasses which they not experience at home .
In conclusion I opine that theaters and cinemas play a crucial role in both Hollywood and Bollywood industry because they give us a real feel of the film and make our moment memorable and enjoyable but sometime, we tackle lot of problems like management issues and discomfort Ness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the economic importance of cinemas is supported by a specific example, but the reasoning is occasionally disjointed, such as the sudden mention of 'scams' and 'air pollution' when discussing online viewing. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis is limited by the lack of clear, logical transitions between the points made. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument that directly supports the topic sentence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often mechanical or unclear. For instance, the transition from discussing online viewing to the 'scam' issue is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes repetitive or misused, such as the frequent use of 'moreover' and 'in contrast' without sufficient logical connection to the preceding sentence. Referencing is occasionally ambiguous, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly enhance the coherence of the writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'talkative shows' instead of 'talk shows' and 'comfortable zone' instead of 'comfort zone'. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'get scam' (should be 'scammed') and 'discomfort Ness' (should be 'discomfort'). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'economical values' and 'financial budget', the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding informal or non-standard word formations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these places play' vs 'there places play'), incorrect preposition usage, and run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation. For example, the first paragraph is a single, long, and confusing sentence. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundary control and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
