Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural aspects, the explanation of the economic impact (the breakdown of ticket revenue) is a bit simplistic and lacks depth. The argument for online entertainment is also brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or specific examples. Your position is clear throughout, but the overall development of the arguments remains at a basic level, which is characteristic of a Band 5.5 or 6.0 response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Probing further', 'In conclusion'). There are also issues with referencing and flow; for instance, the transition between the benefits of cinemas and the reasons for watching online is abrupt. Some sentences are poorly connected, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'better experience', 'good experience', and 'important'. There are also several spelling errors (e.g., 'sat' instead of 'say', 'thay' instead of 'they', 'finnaly' instead of 'finally') and collocation issues (e.g., 'cinemas are not casting at the movement'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic immersion', 'cultural heritage', or 'digital streaming platforms', and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including subject-verb agreement issues ('cinemas and theatres plays', 'cinema provide', 'theaters also helps') and incorrect verb tenses ('parents are watching movies... since they were child'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in punctuation or word order. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
