Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some argue that in today's digital era most of the people prefer to watch films online while not preferring theatres and cinemas and they are not so essential. While some state that theatres and cinemas play a critical role in economic and culturally. This essay will discuss both perspectives.

On one hand, streaming online platforms provide a bulk of movies in their library that anyone can get it in a single click. Having a smart device, they can watch the films that are recently launched, in everywhere they want. For example, a boy or a girl while working in a company or studying they can easily watch through using their smartphones which can carried easily. In addition, they play a key role in economy to have large revenue and everyone can know other cultural values.

On the other hand, going in a theatre or a cinema is no only watching a film. The other audience can share their thoughts and emotions with each other. Gasping with their friends, laughing on a comedy scene and the crowded area makes joy to everyone. While sitting in a bounded area that you are not able to have joy with others. For instance, friends, a couple and a family can watch a film in theatre or cinema in the same place in instant time which provide a good bonding with others. Furthermore they use to tell the scenes of a film to each other. this results a better or improving of understanding and relationship with each other.

In my opinion, i believe in both viewpoints that watching a movie in cinema will have fun and enjoyable . While some conditions like online streaming can benefit those who are not able to visit in theatres.

In contrast, improving economy and cultural the cinemas and theatres makes their contribution and sharing emotions and thoughts while online platforms which provide such things can be beneficial for the ones who can't visit in cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed both sides of the argument and provided a personal opinion, which meets the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, your point about the economic impact of cinemas is mentioned but not explained or supported with specific evidence. Similarly, your personal opinion in the conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a clear, cohesive summary of why you hold that view. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by a well-developed explanation and a concrete example that directly supports your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'On one hand,' 'In addition,' and 'Furthermore.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is unclear, such as the transition between the benefits of streaming and the economic impact. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack proper logical connectors, which occasionally disrupts the flow of your argument. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help your ideas progress more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'have fun,' 'good bonding,' and 'not so essential.' There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'improving economy and cultural' and 'gasping with their friends.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience,' 'social cohesion,' 'digital accessibility,' or 'economic viability.' Focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning rather than relying on simple, repetitive descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'which can carried easily' (passive voice error), 'going in a theatre... is no only watching' (preposition and negation error), and 'this results a better or improving of understanding' (incorrect verb usage). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While your meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction and verb forms.
