Student answer (Band 6.0)
People have different opinions about whether the digital age, theatres and cinemas are much valuble or not. While some believe that they are replaced by the online platforms that are well organised now, others argue that they are important on the level of economic and culture. From my practical perspective, they have less importance than before because people trends are now focused more on online entertainment.
Supporters of the first view argue that there is no need for the physical attendance of the entertainment places. This is because there are a lot of platforms that contain enormous types of entertaiment, such as movies, songs, ...etc. Moreover, they save time and effort that could be consumed during going to such places. For example, when you want to watch any movie, simply you can turn on your TV and play any movie from Netflix. Therefore, the online resources for any of entertainment items could be better option nowadays.
On the other hand, those who support the second view believe that theatres and cinemas play an important role in economy and culture. This can be explained by the fact that these places create job opportunities. And if they are not required any more it will lead to a great unemlopyment problem. Furthermore, they greatly represent the culture of the country to anyone who interested in it. For instance, the tourists, who visit Egypt every year, they can know about the culture of Egypt through theatres and cinemas. In addition to, their visits reflect positively on Egypt economy.
Overall, although both views have merit, I believe the first view is more convincing because it is more practical. Unfortunately, soon or later there will be no more physical activities. Additionally, the online platforms could achieve the two missions that theatres and cinemas have already accomplished on both levels; economy and culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of streaming platforms versus the economic and cultural impact of physical venues. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the argument about unemployment is mentioned but not fully explored with specific evidence. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to provide more detailed explanations and perhaps a more nuanced comparison between the two sides of the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader through the arguments. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though the use of '...' and 'etc.' in the second paragraph is informal and detracts from the academic tone. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'enormous types of entertainment' and 'practical perspective'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'people trends are now focused' instead of 'trends in people's preferences' and 'much valuble'. Additionally, the use of '...' and 'etc.' is inappropriate for an academic essay. Expanding the range of precise vocabulary and improving collocation would help elevate the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'if they are not required any more it will lead to a great unemlopyment problem' (missing comma and spelling error) and 'In addition to, their visits reflect' (incorrect preposition usage). Subject-verb agreement and article usage also show occasional lapses. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. More attention to proofreading for basic syntax and punctuation is recommended.
