Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the economic argument regarding theatres is mentioned but not fully explored with specific evidence or depth. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not strongly synthesize the arguments presented. While the position is clear, the supporting points lack the depth required for a higher band score. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a well-developed example or explanation that directly links back to the prompt's focus on economic and cultural importance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the response. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Watching in theaters can be more enjoyable that watching alone at home', where the comparison lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'streaming', 'live streaming', and 'platforms'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'in contemporary time' (should be 'in contemporary times') and 'producers gets direct amount' (should be 'producers receive direct revenue'). The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band. Improving collocation and using more sophisticated synonyms would enhance the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('People does not has', 'platforms has facilities'), incorrect pronoun usage ('has there advantages' instead of 'their'), and prepositional errors ('in term of' instead of 'in terms of'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors would significantly improve the accuracy of the text.
