Student answer (Band 5.5)
The digital age has become a big essential part of our life, Some people say that digital age has replaced theatres and cinemas and are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. However, other argue that theatres and cinemas are still an important part because of both economically and culturally. Before, I give my opinion I will analyse and discuss both the views and then give my opinion.
On the one hand, People say that the digital age has taken over the theaters and cinemas because which ever movie we like to watch can see on OTT platforms like, Netflix, Prime video and HBO max. Additionally, theatres and cinemas cost more for one movie where as OTT platforms cost equal but it depends on subscription of the channel it can be for months or years.
On the other hand, Some argues that theatres and cinemas are still important because of both
economically and culturally because watching cinema is a other level of experience , as per you can see movies on big screens . In addition , now a days many flims are a coming on IMAX theatres which gives a realistic experience . Spending time at watch cinemas with family , friends makes your bond more strong and makes a lifetime memories with them .
On my opinion , digital age and going to cinemas is there own personal choice . However , introverts like to watch flims in their personal space so they prefer to watch digital as per going cinemas and theaters with your family , friends makes memories . I will like both because everyone don't have time to go cinemas everyday and watch films

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the economic and cultural arguments in the third paragraph are mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with specific examples. The opinion in the conclusion is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth, as it focuses on personal preference rather than addressing the broader economic or cultural significance mentioned in the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, 'Before, I give my opinion I will analyse...' is an awkward way to signpost the essay. There are also issues with referencing and logical flow, such as the transition between the digital age and personal choice in the final paragraph. While the overall progression is discernible, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the writing feel disjointed at times.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'big essential part' and 'good experience'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'watching cinema is a other level of experience' and 'makes your bond more strong'. Spelling errors like 'flims' instead of 'films' occur throughout the text. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary related to the topic of media and entertainment.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Some argues'), incorrect preposition usage ('as per going cinemas'), and punctuation errors, particularly with comma placement. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and the misuse of articles and pluralization (e.g., 'a other level') is persistent. You need to focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and diversifying your sentence structures to demonstrate better control.
