Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the discussion. The ideas presented, such as the convenience of streaming services and the cultural importance of cinemas, are relevant but remain underdeveloped due to the brevity of the response. To reach a higher band, you must expand on your points with more detailed examples and explanations to ensure the task is fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with' and 'Moving towards later notion', though these are somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'digital era' and 'streaming service providers', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'well maintained life' and 'cinema workers'. There is limited use of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'It is considered that few individuals say the in today's digital era' and 'they do need travel' (missing 'not'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and sentence construction to improve accuracy.
