Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is limited. The introduction is somewhat disjointed, and the conclusion fails to clearly state your own opinion, merely noting that both have advantages. While you touch upon economic and cultural aspects, the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the claim that downloading movies is more costly than cinema tickets is factually questionable and lacks logical support. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently maintained throughout, with each paragraph providing well-supported, logical arguments rather than just listing points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is often disrupted by mechanical transitions and awkward phrasing. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'on the other hand' and 'moreover', they are sometimes used incorrectly or repetitively. The lack of clear topic sentences makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'entertainment', 'people', and 'things'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'entertainment paly a crucial role' (play) and 'drams' (dramas). You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the lack of precision hinders the sophistication of your writing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations related to the topic of media and culture, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles, incorrect verb forms, and run-on sentences. For example, 'entertainment paly a crucial role in our life without people feel bored' is grammatically incoherent. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, which often forces the reader to re-read sentences to grasp the meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
