Use of technology has been increased nowdays. Some people believe that in the digital age, people can watch all the entertainment online so theater and cinemas are not longer important while other think that theaters and cinemas are still important. On the one hand, mostly people use online platforms for watching movies and series. This is because it provides both convenience and comfortable watching movies and series. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the economic importance of cinemas is mentioned but not fully explored, and the claim that visiting cinemas improves communication skills is not logically supported. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the supporting examples, such as the mention of 'Hotstar' in China, are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations for your claims rather than listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'Additionally,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'One the other hand' (should be 'On the other hand'). Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. The progression of ideas is logical, but the connection between the economic benefits of cinemas and the improvement of communication skills is tenuous and lacks a clear logical link.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'reply, pose and skip' (likely meaning 'rewind, pause and skip') and 'everyone can not effort it' (should be 'afford'). The range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms, and there is a lack of sophisticated or topic-specific collocations. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms, as the current errors occasionally distract from the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('students has preferred', 'economy become'), incorrect verb forms ('like to watching', 'everyone can using'), and missing articles. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The control over punctuation and sentence structure is inconsistent. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical rules and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
