Student answer (Band 5.5)
Presently, we are living in the technology era, where everything is changing rapidly as compared to past. According to some persons opinion that in this automation time, there is no need for theatres and cinemas because public can watch all the things related to enjoyment with the help of internet. While others perspective is that theatres and cinemas both are very crucial as for economically and culturally. In this essay, I will discuss the both viewpoints and give my own response.
Firstly, we know that everything is accessible with the assistance of internet. Taste and method of people's entertainment changed according to modern era. For instance, There are several online platforms in the world like, YouTube, Netflix and Amazon and these apps can provide huge content for people's amusement. By simple means we can reach this content with the help of the world wide web. So many people believe that, why people use other paths and waste their time by going outside. They can watch entertaining things anywhere at any time.
On the other side, number of people still consider theatres and cinemas as their source of entertainment and humorous. For example, many individuals are linked with these sources, because they choose this field as their profession and source of income. Many people are attached with theatres to present their culture to other members of different communities. People feel more joyful and delighted, when they go to cinemas with their love ones and families. So cinemas and theatres have their own importance in today's world. And I personally believe that we should encourage them because many people in the world earn money from them and take the responsibility of their families.
To conclude that, in this digital era many select social media and other platforms as their source of entertainment. But from my prospective, we can not neglect the significance of physical means of enjoyment to explore culture and content like cinemas and theatres. They also have their own value in this world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both viewpoints and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of online streaming versus the economic and cultural value of physical venues. However, the development is somewhat limited; the arguments remain at a general level and could benefit from more specific examples or deeper analysis. For instance, the economic argument is mentioned but not fully explored. The position is consistent throughout, but the essay would be stronger if the arguments were more thoroughly extended to meet the requirements for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'On the other side', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'By simple means we can reach this content'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall progression of ideas feels a bit repetitive in the conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. The student uses basic terms like 'enjoyment', 'things', and 'good', which limits the precision of the argument. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'humorous' used as a noun instead of 'humor' or 'entertainment', and 'love ones' instead of 'loved ones'. While the meaning is generally clear, the vocabulary does not demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'According to some persons opinion', 'discuss the both viewpoints', and 'many select social media'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and suggest a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms. A wider variety of error-free complex structures is needed to reach a higher band.
