Student answer (Band 5.0)
As some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online while other argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both perspective, but I believe that theatre and cinemas are not that important now days.
As I said earlier that cinemas and theatre are not that important now a days because in todays world, life is not piece of cupcake, people have difficult routine because of their job and business, it is not feasible for the people to manage time, for example people who do job find it very difficult to do rest some times so how will they manage to go to cinemas and theatres, while on weekend they prefer to take rest and implication to this they avoid going out because they want rest and watch everything they like online. today time management is a difficult task for everyone. And although some people have social anxiety so they avoid such places with many people,, while the cinemas and theatre can also cause noise pollution.
To some extent they are still important for people who enjoy watching movies with friends and family for example for the people who are more social and enjoy fun activities.
In the conclusion I would say that theatre and cinema are important to some extent economically for the person who bought them, whereas it is not that important now a days because of busy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development is quite limited. The arguments regarding time management and social anxiety are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The discussion of the 'economic and cultural' importance mentioned in the prompt is largely ignored, except for a brief mention in the conclusion. The response is quite short in terms of substantive content, and the ideas are not fully extended. To improve, you should dedicate a full paragraph to each perspective, providing concrete examples or logical explanations for why these venues remain culturally or economically significant, rather than focusing solely on personal convenience.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. The introduction is a run-on sentence that fails to clearly outline the essay's direction. Paragraphing is weak; the second paragraph is overly long and contains multiple disconnected ideas, while the third paragraph is very brief. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical or repetitive way, such as 'As I said earlier' and 'for example'. The progression of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of your argument. Using clearer topic sentences and a wider variety of linking words would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'not that important' and 'not a piece of cupcake' (which is an incorrect idiom) appear frequently. There is little attempt to use academic or topic-specific vocabulary related to the entertainment industry or digital trends. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'implication to this' and 'for the person who bought them'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'digital streaming platforms', 'cinematic experience', or 'cultural heritage'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as the opening sentence which is a fragment, and the misuse of punctuation throughout. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. For example, 'people who do job' should be 'people who have jobs', and 'today time management' should be 'in today's world, time management'. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and punctuation before attempting more complex structures.
