Student answer (Band 5.5)

WE MUST ADMIT THAT USEAGE OF TECNOLOGY IS UNBELIEVEABLE. WHEN THE TOPIC OF THEATRES AND CINEMAS ARE DISCUSSED IT HAS DUAL OPINION. PRIOR TO MY OPION BOTH THE VIEW DISSCUSSED FURTHER.

COMMENTING UPON THE FORMER VIEW SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IT IS TOTAL WEAST OF TIME AND MONEY TO WATCH MOIVES IN CINEMAS. FIEST OF ALL WE HAVE TO KEEP CHEACKING ONLINE OR OFFLINE FOR TIME SLOTS. MOREOVER, TO BOOK SEATS PEOPLE HAVE TO EARLY IN THEATRES. HOWEVER, PEOPLE ALSO PURCHASE SUBSCRIBSION OF DIFFERENT PLATFORM SUCH AS AMAZON PRIME, NETFLIX, HOTSTAR AND SO ON. IT ALSO TELECAST ON PLATFORMS AFTER SOMETIMES. AND IT IS THE MAIN REASON THAT PEOPLE AVOID TO SPEND MONEY TWO TIMES.WE CAN REWATCH IT ANY TIME AND PAUSE IT IF WE HAVE SOME IMPORTANT WORK. IN ADDITION WE SKIP SONGS AND SOME SCENES IN WHICH WE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH FAMILIES.

ON THE OTHER HAND, WATCHING MOIVES IN THEATRES GIVE EXTREME ROYAL EXPERIENCE FOR SOME PEOPLE. SOME HAVE HABIT TO WATCH FIRST DAY FIRST SHOW IN CINEMAS. MOREOVER, IN THEATRES DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE COME TO WATCH AND SHOUTINGS ON HEROS AND HEROINES ENTRIES OR SOME ACTIONS SCENES. WATCHING MOIVES IN THEATRES ALSO HELP TO THE COUNTRY. CHILDREN ALSO LEARN HOW TO SURVIVE IN PUBLIC. IF THEY WATCH MOIVE AT HOMES THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DEAL IN PUBLIC AND IT CAUSES ANXIETY AND DIPRESSION.

IN CONCLUSION, ECONOMICAL AND CULTURALLY THEATRES ARE IMPORTANT BUT I FIRMLY SUPPORT THAT THEATERS AND CINEMAS ARE NO LONGER IMPORTAN FOR PEOPLE. WATCHING MOIVES AT HOMES ARE MORE CONFORTABLE FOR MOST OF THE PEOPLE.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument that watching movies at home prevents 'anxiety and depression' is a significant over-generalization and lacks logical support. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the arguments regarding economic and cultural importance are underdeveloped. The conclusion clearly states a position, but the reasoning throughout the body paragraphs relies on personal preference rather than a balanced discussion of the broader economic or cultural impacts mentioned in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Prior to my opion' and 'Commenting upon the former view' feel forced and do not always connect ideas naturally. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt. While there is a basic progression of ideas, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structures limit the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains frequent spelling errors, such as 'useage', 'tecnology', 'weast', 'moives', 'subscribsion', and 'confortable'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. The range of vocabulary is basic, relying on simple descriptors like 'extreme royal experience' or 'important'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or an awareness of collocation. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to media and economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'When the topic of theatres and cinemas are discussed it has dual opinion' (subject-verb agreement) and 'Watching moives at homes are more confortable' (pluralization and agreement). Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization throughout the text. The frequency of errors is high, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding of the intended meaning. A greater focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement is necessary.
