Student answer (Band 5.5)

Through different forms of print and digital media we, come across report that theater and cinema house now disappear. One school of thoughts emphasises that. Nowadays theaters and cinemas are less important due to people prefer online entertainment. Conversely There is an argument that cinema and theater represented our culture and it is also gives economically support for government. After scrutiny of both the sides, I support the former views.

Those who believe in the former view put forward solid reasons. To begin with, Nowadays many digital sources available for entertainment people can easily watch movies and some funny shows from anywhere. This view exists as, whenever people can get free time that time they watch. As a result, They do not need to go theater or cinema and save times of traveling. In addition to these. visiting theatre they need huge money. By this they mean that they spend lot of money on tickets and snacks. Therefore, they save money. According to recent research in this matter, it has been proven that 80% people like to watched movies on cinema or theater.

However, Those who are against the former view state that theaters gives a good quliety sounds and 3d screen people go there with near and dear ones and also enjoy good times. As a matter of fact, people enjoyed other one company. So, people like to watching some kind of program in cinema. Apart from this, theater and cinema also help economically for needy people. This hypothesis is buoyed in the idea that many people need job and they want to do that type of work. Thus, cinema and theatre provides them opportunity. For instance, many young generations do that type of work.

In conclusion, down the lane, theatre and cinema disappear due to technology. It is recommended that government can also spend some money on theatre to entertainment for people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development is inconsistent. While you present arguments for both sides, the supporting evidence is often vague or contradictory. For instance, you claim 80% of people prefer watching movies in cinemas, which directly contradicts your stated position that cinemas are disappearing. The conclusion is also slightly confusing, as it suggests cinemas will disappear but then recommends government funding for them. To improve, ensure your supporting points logically align with your stated position and provide more specific, coherent examples to justify your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. Phrases like 'In addition to these' and 'By this they mean that' are used in ways that do not effectively link ideas. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'the former view' and 'the latter view' which becomes confusing due to the lack of clear topic sentences. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'money', and 'work', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'gives economically support' instead of 'provides economic support' and 'quliety sounds' (spelling error). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to media, economics, and culture, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('theaters gives'), incorrect verb forms ('like to watched'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For example, 'This hypothesis is buoyed in the idea that many people need job' is grammatically awkward. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that verb tenses are used consistently throughout the text to improve overall accuracy.
