Student answer (Band 5.5)
The significant number of individuals argue that the world now become more digitalize so there is no need for the physical cinemas and theaters, consequently some argue that they play a crucial role in the economy and the in culture. I totally disagree with the statement of complete removal of theatre and cinemas.
Firstly, the advocates of digital world concede that there is no need for the physical cinemas and theaters, because the world make the changes in technology and everything is widely available on internet. Additionally, there is an era of social media, everyone have there own phone and easy access to social media platforms. Such as, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook other apps which provides entertainment for their users.
On the other hand, opponents believe that the both cinema and theater plays a vital role in the development of the country by economically and culturally. Moreover, if there is more cinemas and theaters it produces more employments for the youth and help the nation by the rise in there economy. In addition, it's represent the culture of the nation worldwide. Furthermore, it also helps opportunity for the business owners to grow. For instance, when people go for shopping and after hectic weekdays, on weekends individuals go to theaters and cinemas to watch different shows and plays, which help them to mitigate their stress and unwind them. Also, owners make good money through visitors, which is beneficial for the country economic growth.
In conclusion, according to the collage of views, its good and beneficial to have theaters and cinemas, as they play role in the economic growth and of the country and produce more employments in the future for youth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the economic benefits of cinemas is repetitive, focusing mainly on 'employment' and 'money' without exploring the cultural significance in depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack specific, well-developed examples, relying instead on general statements. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples that illustrate how cinemas contribute to cultural preservation or local economic ecosystems beyond simple job creation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'according to the collage of views', which is not a standard English phrase. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'if there is more cinemas and theaters it produces more employments', where the pronoun usage is slightly awkward. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother with more varied linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'digitalize' instead of 'digitalized', 'the world make the changes' instead of 'the world has undergone changes', and 'collage of views' instead of 'collection of views' or 'diverse perspectives'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone have there own phone'), incorrect article usage ('the both cinema'), and pluralization errors ('there is more cinemas'). There are also issues with word forms, such as 'economically and culturally' used where adjectives ('economic and cultural') would be more appropriate. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
