Student answer (Band 6.0)
People have been divided into two groups, some believes that in modern era, theatres and cinemas are not important because all the entertainment is available online. Others oppose this view, they believe theatres and cinemas affect both economical and cultural enviroments. This essay will focus on both the views with suitable facts and examples. I believe that cinemas are still important in the digital age.
As per first group of people, if all the content is available online then why they should consider going to theatres. Honestly, this is a great point like why should we waste money when we can just watch movies from home. There is no possibility that you miss starting footage due to traffic. Also you can enjoy the movie whenever you want from your couch. But i still largely disagree with this viewpoint and count this as benefits.
People of other group argue that the cinemas and theatres are providing employment to several people. This industry plays major factor running economy. Also you don't just watch movie in cinema, you spend time with your friend or family. Watching social media online has become so common, The experience of watching on big screen is something different. This feels relaxing for your eyes and brain. I also concur with this group of people.
According to me, cinemas and theatres are still a very reliable source of having fun. It also gives you access to movies before online platforms. you can watch movies without spoilers.
Whether cinemas are important element of television industry or not is a debatable topic but my view is better due to reasons i have mentioned.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the economic argument is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or depth. The points regarding 'social media' and 'relaxing for your eyes' are slightly tangential to the core debate about the cultural and economic importance of cinemas. To reach a higher band, you should provide more substantial evidence or logical reasoning for your arguments, such as discussing the role of cinemas in local community building or the specific economic impact of film production and distribution.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, such as the shift from discussing online content to the benefits of cinemas. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') would help create a more cohesive argument and improve the overall progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'great point', 'fun', and 'important'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'economical environments' (should be 'economic environments') and 'starting footage' (should be 'the beginning of a film'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry, such as 'cinematic experience', 'revenue streams', 'cultural heritage', or 'digital distribution'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally affect readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some believes' instead of 'some believe'), missing articles ('in modern era' instead of 'in the modern era'), and punctuation errors, such as comma splices ('Watching social media online has become so common, The experience...'). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your score.
