Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argued that in the social digital age theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. But in another hand many argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

First of all, Nowadays peoples like to spend their free time by using the cell phone. To spend time many peoples makes tiktok videos, scool reels, chatting with

their family and friends. Most of people has stopped going outside to watch the latest cinemas in theatres they felt bored. all they want to pay online and watch them in home by enjoying their snacks time. It is because nowadays, all peoples are busy on their daily schudule heavy work and they felt exhausted. In my opinion, It is not very important to go theatres to watch latest movie because it will waste our time and effect our daily schedule.

Secondly, Many Numerous individuals are still intrested in with theatres to watch cinemas it is great job because after all full time work day we fell exhausted and our brains need rest. So, once a weekend day if we go to watch cinema outside theatres with our family or friend it will help us two ways that will help us to get together and enjoy family time together by having snacks time and it will fresh our mind too.

Moreover, In both these views they'hve their own benefits and reasons, but I would like to choose theather cinemas should be important in our daily life because it will help us to communicate with many people's from outside and help to socalize more with people's. Movie time is best way to fresh our mind and spend our free time with the loved ones.

Overall, we get to go out spend more time with social people and enjoy our movie time.

The reasons for my answer is I love to watch latest movies in theaters because from that moral story I learn many knowledge-able things and get great ideas for my daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The arguments regarding the digital age are somewhat repetitive and lack depth, focusing heavily on personal habits rather than broader economic or cultural impacts. While the position is clear, the supporting points are often simplistic and lack the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. The conclusion is somewhat disjointed from the main body paragraphs, and the overall structure of the argument could be more cohesive to fully explore the complexities of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive transitions. While cohesive devices like 'First of all,' 'Secondly,' and 'Moreover' are used, they are often applied mechanically. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow within paragraphs is hindered by short, choppy sentences. The connection between the introduction, body, and conclusion is weak, making the overall argument feel fragmented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'important,' 'watch,' and 'time.' There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'scool reels' (likely meant 'scroll reels') and 'fresh our mind' (should be 'refresh'). The student attempts to use some more complex vocabulary, but these attempts are often inaccurate or used in the wrong context. The range is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Improving word choice and learning common collocations would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('peoples makes,' 'Most of people has'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation mistakes. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often result in errors that can cause some difficulty for the reader. For example, 'In both these views they'hve their own benefits' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score. Focusing on fundamental grammar rules and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
