Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Proponents of the view that brick-and-mortar entertainment facilities are obsolete primarily cite the convenience, vast selection, and cost-effectiveness of digital platforms. On-demand services allow users to access thousands of movies and performances instantly from the comfort of their homes, bypassing ticket queues, commuting times, and inflated concession prices. Furthermore, the rapid advancements in high-definition displays, surround-sound home audio systems, and modern visual technology have narrowed the gap between home viewing and the big-screen experience. For cost-conscious consumers, a monthly subscription offering unlimited content is inherently more appealing than purchasing individual cinema or theatre tickets.

On the other hand, advocate groups emphasize that physical venues fulfill vital cultural and economic functions. Culturally, cinemas and theatres serve as communal spaces that foster shared emotional experiences—a collective resonance that solitary streaming in a living room cannot replicate. Live theatre, in particular, offers an unscripted dynamism between actors and audiences that digital screens fail to capture. Economically, the film and performing arts industries rely heavily on theatrical releases to generate revenue, which in turn finances future artistic production. Additionally, these venues stimulate local commerce by driving foot traffic to neighboring restaurants, retail outlets, and public transport systems.

In conclusion, although digital platforms provide unparalleled accessibility and affordability, I firmly believe that traditional cinemas and live theatres remain indispensable. Their unique ability to facilitate genuine shared cultural interactions and support broader economic ecosystems ensures that they will continue to complement, rather than be replaced by, digital streaming.
