Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern era, many people prefers to watch movie in cinemas and theatres. While, some other people argue that theatres and cinemas plays and important role to our country both economically and culturally. This essay eludicates both the relevant views with examples, with my point of view.
On the first hand, some people think that watching cinemas are far more relevant because of the flexebility. Watchers can see any movies or any series at any time and at any place around the world. For example, a boy named ram wants to watch a documantary movie because of this school project, but there are no shows on the cinemas, so he watched that movie online on a ott platform. because of this this project was completed at time. Moreover, watching movies or series will save your movie ticket and also there transportation cost.
On the second hand, Watching movies in cinemas and theatres helps people to get movie vibes and far more experisience that home. Theatres uses modern technology like sound system and also projector. For example, a report shows that using modern technology helps people to get better experisence of that movie like watching movie in 4dx, 3d or on imax screen , this helps our country in innovation of other technology. Furthermore, cinema and theatres provides job to the people who are in need, this helps our country in growth of gdp.
In my opinion, Watching movies online have far more advantage then watching movies in cinemas and theatres. Watching movies online not only provide flexibility but also helps to lower the cost of the ticket and transportion.
To conclude, theatres and cinemas has played and important role in creating job and to the growth of the country, but watching movies online has far more benifit , which are flexibility and savings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The example of 'Ram' is a bit simplistic and informal for an academic essay. While the economic and cultural arguments are mentioned, they are not fully explored or supported with sophisticated reasoning. The position is consistent, but the depth of analysis could be improved by discussing the cultural significance of cinemas beyond just 'vibes' or 'innovation'. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task but lacks the depth expected for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the first view to the second, and finally to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'On the first hand' and 'On the second hand', which are not standard idiomatic expressions. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing (e.g., 'this helps our country') is occasionally vague. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between ideas could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'eludicates' (elucidates), 'flexebility' (flexibility), 'documantary' (documentary), 'experisience' (experience), and 'benifit' (benefit). The word choice is often repetitive, particularly the use of 'watching movies' and 'cinemas and theatres'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the frequency of spelling mistakes prevent a higher score. To improve, you should focus on using more varied synonyms and ensuring accurate spelling of common academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many people prefers', 'theatres and cinemas plays'), article usage (e.g., 'watch movie'), and prepositional errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. The sentence construction is often basic, and there is a need for more variety in complex structures to demonstrate greater control. Improving proofreading to catch basic agreement and pluralization errors would significantly raise this score.
