Student answer (Band 6.0)

there are different opinions regarding going to cinemas and theatres and watching any entertainment online. some people fond of going out, keep socializing and enjoy gathering prefers cinema while some people who are social anxious, busy and do not want to spend money preferably watch movies on online platforms.

Nowadays where life has become very digital and busy, people prefers going out and watch movie whenever they find spare time. This helps them to get a break from their hectic routine and enjoy some quality time that charged them to fulfill future commitments. Watching movies on a big screen gives people social and immersive experience. Many people find only the weekend to have a quality time with family and friends which 2-3 hours movie in cinema actually provides. Many people love watching art in person and real time so they prefer theatres for entertainment. These shows in theatres gives cultural awareness and finest detail of art to the audience. Going to cinemas and theatres not only the sort of enjoyment but it generate new artist and multiple employments for public. therefore, it is one of the great source to strengthen up country's economy and art.

Some people who are antisocial, hates crowd and noise and enjoys their own company prefers online streaming. This gives them a wider choices of content, flexible viewing schedule, multiple replay options and a comfy environment. A long hectic week drains people energy so much that on weekends they love staying in bed, watching their favorite show and enjoy their favorite food. This actually saves their cost of travel and cinema ticket, time and energy.

I firmly believe that cinemas and online streaming is equally important. The public places should not be over crowded or empty. Balanced interest among the audience is crucial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the decline of cinemas due to online streaming and their continued cultural and economic importance. You clearly state your opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the economic benefits of theatres are mentioned, the argument could be strengthened with more specific examples or deeper analysis of the 'cultural' aspect. The introduction is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully extended and that your position is consistently maintained throughout the body paragraphs rather than just stated at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a distinct aspect of the topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'therefore' and 'however' (implied), but the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between ideas feels slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could benefit from more varied linking words to improve the overall progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'immersive experience,' 'cultural awareness,' and 'flexible viewing schedule.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'charged them' (should be 'recharged'), 'social anxious' (should be 'socially anxious'), and 'generate new artist' (should be 'generate new opportunities for artists'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people prefers,' 'shows... gives,' 'it generate') and article usage. There are also issues with pluralization and verb forms, such as 'hates crowd' instead of 'hate crowds.' While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To achieve a higher band, you need to pay closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy, especially subject-verb agreement, and aim for more error-free complex sentences.
