Student answer (Band 5.0)

We live in 21st century, and the development of different things and invention are being took and happening in this busy world.

we know that entertainment have been a basic needs of a human being in this world, to fulfill the needs they had introduce cinemas and theatres.

The digital age, where we can enjoy seeing different movies relaxed at our home. Daily vast majority of people around the world gets online and watch their favourite movies along with there family members or with friends.

I partially agree and disagree with this statement as" we often get tired after watching in small screen and we human always need a bigger one and cleared one. Yeah it saves our money and we are free to do anything and regardless we can have different kinds of foods along with our family. But in case of cinema and theatres we cannot bring foods along with us from our home but we can have popcorns from movies hall.

If the cinemas and theatres don't show us movies how can we be entertained? Both cinemas and theatres have contributed economically to the country. Yeah there are times when we can't afford a movie ticket but, most of the time we can have a ticket and enjoy a movie in a bigger screen and clear sound, "Most of the cinemas and theatres have already introduced 'dobly atom' which makes sound more realistic and plus point 'different movies are being made by 3D '3rd dimensional' movies which are observed by wearing a glasses which is provided by the cinemas or theatres.

To Conclude, if you are fond of watching different kinds of movies. Then, i recommend you to visit cinema halls or a movie theatres to have a full experience of the movie.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development is limited and somewhat superficial. While you mention the convenience of digital entertainment and the economic/cultural value of cinemas, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the economic contribution is mentioned but not explained. Your position is stated as 'partially agree and disagree,' but the reasoning is fragmented and focuses heavily on personal preferences (like food or screen size) rather than broader societal or economic impacts. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a clear, well-supported main idea that directly answers the prompt's requirement to discuss both views.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is inconsistent, and the flow between ideas is often disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing digital entertainment to personal food preferences is abrupt and lacks logical connection. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as the informal use of 'Yeah' and 'But' at the start of sentences. To improve, use formal linking words like 'Furthermore,' 'Conversely,' or 'In addition' to connect your ideas, and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on informal or imprecise language. Phrases like 'different things,' 'basic needs of a human being,' and 'dobly atom' (referring to Dolby Atmos) demonstrate a limited range and some inaccuracies. There is also a tendency to use colloquialisms like 'Yeah' and 'plus point,' which are inappropriate for an academic essay. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise, academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'technological advancements,' 'immersive experience,' or 'socio-economic impact,' and ensure you use technical terms correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('entertainment have been,' 'majority of people... gets'), incorrect verb forms ('are being took'), and awkward sentence construction ('we human always need'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misused quotation marks and missing commas. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly connected compound sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, subject-verb agreement, and consistent verb tenses before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
