Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 157 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both views and provide an opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. The points made about relaxation and online alternatives are mentioned but not sufficiently supported with relevant examples or logical expansion. The position is stated in the conclusion but lacks the necessary elaboration to be considered a well-developed argument. To improve, you must expand each body paragraph with more detailed reasoning and specific examples to meet the length requirement and fully address the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into short paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, making the text feel disjointed. For instance, the transition between the advantages and the drawbacks is abrupt. The use of referencing is also unclear at times, such as in the sentence 'Both have its own advantages', where the antecedent is not explicitly defined. To improve, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') to guide the reader through your arguments and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, central topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are several spelling errors, such as 'importanrt', 'beleive', 'benificail', and 'prospective' (used incorrectly for 'perspective'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient for an academic task, relying on simple words like 'good', 'going', and 'things'. To achieve a higher band score, you need to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to the entertainment industry and cultural economics. Focus on learning collocations and ensuring correct spelling, as these errors currently hinder the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people Going there', 'she thinks that watching... make her mood good'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they are often grammatically incorrect, such as 'why people going cinema and theatre for watching movies another option is that to watch online'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions to improve clarity and accuracy.
