Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believes that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all movies and series they want online. while others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important. I will give my reason below to support second statement

First of all, Those people who believes that, In future it will not very important that people especially going to theatre to watch their favorite movies. because modern world changes everything now the place of theatre screen replacing by projector. Some people also support this statement because they think in this way they save their time that they use to travel to reach cinema.

Second of all, the statement which I also support is those people who believe that cinemas are still important both economically and culturally . There are many reasons to follow this statement, people go cinemas with their friends they enjoy every moment their and silence enhance the flavor of whole movie.

Thirdly, Cinemas also take part in economically and culturally activities. Like people buy tickets from cinemas so it increase the economic position of country. on the other hand, Culturally it shows in very nice way the culture of different provisions some of entertainment material represents the country's culture.

According to my opinion,We have to build more entertainment places like theares, cinemas etc. for individuals we have to make some advertisement which helps people to get over from their houses and reduce their depression by entertaining themselves.

Conclusion is that, Our government should make a budget for building these types of buildings to increase the GDP of country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding economic benefits is vague, simply stating that buying tickets increases the 'economic position of country' without explaining the mechanism. The points are often repetitive, and the explanation of cultural importance is underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more specific examples and extend your reasoning beyond surface-level statements. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'First of all', 'Second of all', and 'Thirdly' are used to signpost, but the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. For instance, the transition between the idea of 'silence' and 'economic position' is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'the statement which I also support is those people who believe that...', which is grammatically awkward and hinders the logical progression of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'important', 'people', and 'movies'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'economic position of country' instead of 'national economy' or 'economic growth', and 'provisions' used incorrectly in place of 'regions' or 'cultures'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word formation (e.g., 'economically and culturally activities') limit the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to economics and culture.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay that occasionally impede readability. Subject-verb agreement is a consistent issue, such as 'Some people believes' and 'Those people who believes'. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity, such as 'In future it will not very important that people especially going to theatre'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and missing spaces after periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of basic errors in sentence construction prevents a higher score.
