Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both sides of the argument and provide a personal opinion, the final paragraph is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. This prevents a full development of your position and leaves the argument unfinished. To improve, ensure you fully expand on your points with specific examples and ensure the essay reaches the required length to allow for a comprehensive discussion of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final section. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'For example', which help to signal shifts in the argument. However, the lack of a proper conclusion and the abrupt ending disrupt the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, completed structure that leads logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'not really popular' and 'take benefit from'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'food savory', which is not standard English. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'cultural significance', or 'digital transformation', and ensure you use words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with sentence fragments and punctuation. For example, 'Since, in this technological world...' is a fragment, and you often use periods where commas would be more appropriate. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'in economical factor'. While you attempt some complex structures, the errors are frequent enough to occasionally impede the flow of reading. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation errors.
