Many people are of the view that in today's era of science and technology, theatres and cinemas are losing their value as the online mode has revolutionized people's needs. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'foreign policy' and 'uprooting' is vague and lacks concrete examples or logical depth. While the prompt asks for economic and cultural importance, the explanation of how cinemas promote foreign policy remains underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, real-world examples—such as how film festivals boost local economies or how cinema acts as a 'soft power' tool for cultural diplomacy—rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'At one side,' 'Additionally,' and 'On the other hand.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. The transition between ideas within paragraphs is occasionally abrupt, and some sentences lack a smooth flow. For example, the phrase 'uprooting' is used incorrectly in the context of economic development, which disrupts the logical progression of the argument. Improving the variety and precision of linking words will help the essay flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
There is an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'manifets bthe human' (manifested the human), 'clkicjs' (clicks), 'desirebale' (desirable), and 'uprooting' (which is used incorrectly to mean 'development' or 'growth'). While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, the high frequency of spelling mistakes and incorrect collocations suggests a lack of control. Focus on using words you are confident in spelling and using correctly in context to avoid these errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement, incorrect preposition usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'provide comfort to avoid the travel and expenses tro watch therater and cinbemas'). Many sentences are clunky or contain typos that make them difficult to parse. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high density of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and sentence structure consistency.
