Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the digital age, people can access almost unlimited entertainment through online platforms, leading some to believe that theatres and cinemas are no longer necessary. However, others argue that these places continue to have economic and cultural importance. This essay will discuss both views before explaining why I believe theatres and cinemas are still valuable.
In my perspective the online entertainment is much better because we save our time from going to theatres and we will enjoy the film in home with our family and in with comfort zone and in the we will safe from pollution and from the traffic and we will safe the money of the cinemas tickets and we don't need to go out side for watching the movie because we already have a online platform for watching films.
In the other hand i would like to say that cinemas are also good for us because in cinemas we have a huge screen for film and it is very enjoyable to watch film and eating popcorn and watching a film in a huge screen and this is also a cultural and traditional that watching a movie in the cinemas and meeting with different cultural people and this is also good that we see all the work hard of director and producer and hero in a huge screen. They provide unique social, cultural and economic benefits that digital platforms cannot completely replace. Rather than disappearing.
In the conclusion i will select that online entertainment is good for us because we will safe from the traffic, pollution, and we enjoy the film in our home with family in comfort zone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development is uneven. The arguments for online entertainment are repetitive and focus heavily on personal convenience (traffic, pollution, comfort) rather than broader societal or economic impacts. The discussion of cinemas is also somewhat superficial, relying on simple descriptions like 'eating popcorn' rather than exploring the cultural or economic significance mentioned in the prompt. The conclusion is brief and merely restates the personal preference without synthesizing the arguments. To improve, you should provide more substantial evidence or logical reasoning for each perspective, ensuring the ideas are fully extended rather than just listed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression within paragraphs is weak. The use of cohesive devices is repetitive and often mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'and' to connect long, run-on clauses. For example, the second paragraph is essentially one long, poorly structured sentence. Transitions between ideas are often missing or simplistic, such as 'In the other hand' (which should be 'On the other hand'). To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one, avoiding the overuse of 'and' as a primary connector.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'watching', and 'huge screen'. There is little attempt to use academic or topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry or digital media. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'safe the money' (should be 'save money') and 'comfort zone' (which is used incorrectly in this context). To improve, focus on learning collocations related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'digital transformation', or 'socio-economic impact', and avoid repeating the same simple adjectives throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammar shows frequent errors that occasionally impede the flow of the text. There are consistent issues with verb forms ('we will safe' instead of 'we save'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on, lacking proper punctuation to separate distinct ideas. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences joined by 'and'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional forms, which are necessary for higher band scores. Focusing on basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your clarity and accuracy.
