Student answer (Band 5.0)

People believes that the digital age theatre and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch any thing online on their phones and digital TV but it can impact on the cultural and economical . But my opinion cinemas and theatres are more important for our culture.

Many people believes that the digital age they got alots of technologies and HD Tv to watch movies with families when ever they want . They are also right but they should know about the cultural and economical impacts on that . When ever new film or drama launches in cinema every people enjoy to watch their with friends or with familes . But digital age people don’t have that much time for cinemas and theatres they always watch on weekend with their family when they had free time to watch a digital age cinema and theatres are no longer in my city we had only 2 cinemas because everyone watch drama movie on digital things on Netflix on tv so thats why people at modern era they don’t want to spend times in cinema or theatre.

My opinion people should go to the cinemas because our culture When we don’t have any digital things our culture was addicted to the cinemas and theaters and the most important thing about cinemas and theatres its about economical damage .

Conclusion . Cinemas and theatres had a good role in our life our culture and the good for economical

But those who spend times on digital age they will give a big lose to the cinemas and economical.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the discussion on economic impact is mentioned but not explained or supported with clear reasoning. The argument remains superficial, and the connection between the digital age and the decline of cinemas is stated rather than explored in depth. To improve, you should provide specific examples or logical explanations for why cinemas are culturally or economically significant, rather than simply stating that they are important.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes misused (e.g., 'But my opinion', 'But digital age people'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. The conclusion is also poorly integrated and lacks a clear summary of the points discussed. Improving the use of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' would help create a more cohesive structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'digital age', 'cinemas and theatres', and 'economical' are used frequently without variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'give a big lose' instead of 'cause a significant loss' and 'enjoy to watch their' instead of 'enjoy watching them'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. You should focus on learning synonyms and collocations related to technology, culture, and economics to improve your ability to convey your thoughts more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('People believes', 'every people enjoy'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'When we don’t have any digital things our culture was addicted to the cinemas'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods and commas. To reach a higher band, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement.
