Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 103 words. Because the essay is incomplete and stops mid-sentence, it fails to address all parts of the prompt. While you mention both views, the lack of development and the failure to complete the task prevent a higher score. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two body paragraphs with supporting examples, and a clear conclusion. The current length is insufficient to demonstrate the ability to develop an argument or provide relevant examples as requested by the task instructions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. While there is an attempt to use transition words like 'Nevertheless' and 'Additionally', the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall logical progression or the effectiveness of paragraphing. The ideas presented are simple and not linked in a way that creates a cohesive argument. To improve, focus on planning your response into four distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs for the opposing views, and a conclusion. Ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and supporting details.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases such as 'watching in there house' and 'comfortable environment'. There are also persistent errors in word choice and spelling, such as using 'there' instead of 'their' and 'quite' instead of 'quiet' or 'great'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas about the economic or cultural impact of cinemas. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'cinematic experience', 'digital streaming platforms', or 'socio-economic significance'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar contains frequent errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with homophones ('there' vs 'their'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction. For example, 'There is a quite debate' is grammatically incorrect. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the lack of completion makes it difficult to assess your ability to use complex structures effectively. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pronoun usage and article placement before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
