Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, there has been a growing debate about cinemas and theatres. While some people believe that due to technology theatres and cinemas are no longer important because now people can watch all the entertainment online, others argue that cinemas and theatres are still important economically and culturally. In my opinion, i believe that advance technology has canged the value of cinemas .
On the one hand there are several reasons why some people believe that nowadays cinemas has no importance. One reason is that technology has changed the everthing .Now people can watch all type of entertainment on their mobil phone from any where using different plateforms for example youtube and netflix etc. This is very cheap and convinent.Advance technology has become the cinema in everybody hands.Furthermore using their mobile phones people can watch the all types of movies free of cost and without any hurdle.
One the other hand some people believe that cinemas and theatres has still play a big roll in emtertainment. They say there are large number of people whose gose to the cinemas for watching movies.Cinemas and theatres is also a way of generate income and representation of art and culture. For examplem, when people go their for watching movies they buy a ticket it will generate the income and increase the economic of the government.
In conclusion , both point of views has different aspects and importance. In my percepctive ,nowadays cinemas has no role in entertainment becausae of technology. In addition to this mobile has provided us each type of facility from home.it makes our lives very easy and convinent.we have no need of going from outside of the home for entertainment shopping or for any things else.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the economic importance of cinemas is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or depth. The conclusion reiterates the position, but the supporting points remain somewhat repetitive throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and perhaps a concrete example of how a cinema contributes to the local economy or culture beyond just ticket sales.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'In my percepctive'. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, which occasionally makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express basic ideas. However, there is a lack of range and precision. Several words are misused or misspelled, such as 'canged' (changed), 'plateforms' (platforms), 'emtertainment' (entertainment), and 'gose' (go). The repetition of simple words like 'important' and 'convenient' limits the score. To improve, you should focus on learning more precise collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and ensure that your spelling is accurate, as these errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('cinemas has no importance', 'cinemas and theatres has still play'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms.
