Student answer (Band 5.5)
Entertainment is the basic need of everybody in which cinemas and theatres are playing major roles but it is no longer in demand now as all the entertainment is provided online, it is opined by some individuals, while other says that these are still an important for culture and economy. Discussion of both views described by that essay before giving my own opinion.
Some says that, for them who entertain themselves by online movies and series could get benefits, such as, saving the time. They do not have to wait for transport vehicles and also not to spent a cost on that, which saves their time and money. Additionally, those got more privacy at home rather than that places with their comfortable time period. Like, school students can watch online entertainments when they got some time from their work.
Yet, other argues for that happening as they can not visit the theatres and spend time with their family. If those visiting they can be the part of this entertainment trip and to spent time with families which helps their children to share each others thoughts and opinions. Another one is online monthly premiums are becoming more costly than cinemas so they do not get theatre vibe and feeling of entertainment due to paying higher costs.
In my opinion. both approaches are as important for economy and culture while it depends on person's mindset about entertainment. Some want cinemas and other want privacy.
By the way of conclusion, I think that entertainment should be individual choice for how and what to do and where to entertain theirselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. While the prompt asks for a discussion of economic and cultural importance, the student focuses primarily on personal convenience and family time. The arguments are somewhat superficial and lack specific examples or depth. For instance, the mention of 'economic' importance is barely touched upon in the conclusion rather than being integrated into the body paragraphs. The position is stated but lacks the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. To improve, ensure each viewpoint is supported by clear, logical arguments that directly address the prompt's specific requirements regarding economic and cultural impacts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'Another one is online monthly premiums' or 'By the way of conclusion'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a basic structure, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence starters hinder the overall coherence. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'entertainment', 'important', and 'time'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'entertain theirselves' and 'not to spent a cost'. The student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary, but the range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To achieve a higher score, the student should focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms for common words. Expanding the range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to the film industry and economic concepts is essential.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('other argues', 'those got'), incorrect verb forms ('to spent'), and awkward sentence construction ('for them who entertain themselves'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from being considered accurate. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and proofreading to eliminate these persistent errors.
