Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days there are ongoing debate amoung people reagrding theatres and cinemas, it is widely considered to be a defining feature of modern life. It is possible to claim that according to some people cinemas and theatres are not cruical in today era, while on the other hand the people who argue that it plays a vital role in economics. In my opinion it has both pro and cons and partialy agree with essention. This essay i shall expain my point of view by analyzing the arguments in various prospective.
There are several reasons why watching online is esstial for society it has a lot of benifits, one of them People can watch anything anytime from the comfort of their home without travelling, parking hassles, or fixed showtimes. Moreover, Streaming subscriptions offer thousands of movies for a low monthly fee, whereas cinema tickets and snacks are increasingly expensive. At is can also be taken into account that With high-definition 4K screens, home sound systems, and instant pause/rewind options, the home viewing experience has become almost as good as a theatre.
Those who argue for theatres and cinemas are important have a different point of view, it will have positve effect. Firstly, it is claim that the big screen, surround sound, and collective atmosphere cannot be replicated on a mobile or TV screen. Secondly, Cinemas generate huge revenue for local economies, create jobs, and boost nearby businesses like restaurants and malls. And last but not the least theatres showcase local drama, live arts, and heritage films, serving as community hubs where people gather to experience shared cultural storytelling.
To summarize, I concide that theatres and cinemas are a integral parts in overall development of society. I would strongly recomend that while streaming services have transformed how people consume media by making it cheaper and more accessible, theatres and cinemas still play a vital role. They not only drive economic growth but also offer a unique, immersive cultural experience that home screens cannot replace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both perspectives and providing a clear opinion. The ideas are relevant and logically grouped into paragraphs. However, the development is somewhat superficial; while the points regarding convenience and economic impact are mentioned, they could be further extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the stance. To improve, ensure that each argument is fully supported with a concrete illustration or a more detailed explanation of the 'why' behind the claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Firstly', and 'To summarize' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions between sentences within paragraphs feel abrupt. For example, the transition in the second paragraph ('At is can also be taken into account that With...') is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'immersive', 'streaming subscriptions', and 'collective atmosphere'. However, there are several spelling errors ('amoung', 'reagrding', 'cruical', 'benifits', 'esstial', 'concide') and minor word-choice issues ('partialy agree with essention'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise, accurately spelled vocabulary to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and sentence fragments (e.g., 'it is claim that', 'theatres and cinemas are important have a different point of view'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several comma splices and missing articles. The errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To improve, the writer should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
