Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few individuals believes that in this modern time , theatres and cinemas are not considered more use full as majority can watch all the entertainment they want on their mobile phones or online, while oppositions says that theatres and cinemas are still valuable for both economically and culturally.

As we can see it is a advanced time ,that we can get to know about any kind of information or any kind of entertainment we want . Just by sitting at our places . we can watch any movie or any web series or any animated videos, that gives us a very simple way to access all over the world. For example if a new movie releases, you have to buy tickets and then wait for your time to watch a movie so, this is a very lengthy process as compared to watching online .

On the other hand, publishing movies or any kind of content in cinemas or theatres gives a lot of benefits to the producers . Also enjoying entertaining content in cinemas or theatres seems to be more fun. Contents were published on theatre and cinemas first and then available on internet later so you have to wait a lot to get that content.

In my opinion, theatres and cinemas are not that much important these days because it is a modern time and almost everyone has the access to the internet and can easily access any type of data or entertainment so, i prefer internet more then cinemas .

In conclusion, theatres and cinemas are also fun but internet these days is more use full and easy way to get entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is mentioned but not explored in any depth. The arguments regarding the convenience of online streaming are repetitive and lack specific examples or nuanced analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims, rather than simply stating them. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, the transition 'As we can see it is a advanced time' is awkward. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences feels somewhat disjointed. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', the overall progression of ideas lacks sophistication and smoothness. Improving the variety and precision of your transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'fun', 'good', and 'use full' (which is a spelling error for 'useful'). There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. Additionally, there are some word-choice inaccuracies, such as 'oppositions says' (should be 'opponents argue') and 'publishing movies' (which is more accurately described as 'releasing' or 'distributing'). To improve, focus on incorporating more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic of media and entertainment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Few individuals believes'), article usage ('a advanced time'), and punctuation errors (spaces before commas). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing articles or incorrect verb forms.
