Student answer (Band 5.0)
In modern technology, the people argues about theaters and cinemas are not important because everything is available now on internet. And some argue that they both are important for culture.
Few people say theaters and cinemas are no longer useful because we watch everything on new technologies . Many apps and website are come and people mostly watch all the entertainment on these social apps . Like majority can use Netflix to watch films and videos and entertain at home with family. For example student can watch fresh programs after they studying and have free time .
Also people can not afford the cinema tickets regularly. People have not much time because everyone have busy routine so they can not waste our money to buy ticket ,travel and food expenses you can go outside and eat.
Other hand, people argue the cinemas and theaters are very important because they can maintain our culture and economically. Like people can go and watch films they can earn money it is the source of income .The physical fitness are also maintain by this because if you would go and see the films you can enjoy more and also you can touch with our culture and people. They also support the restaurants ,businesses and shopping malls. There budget is high but the wide long screen can make more enjoyable and entertainment . When you can go theaters you meet other peoples of different languages and cultures . You can learn new things about culture .
In my opinion, both ways are important for those who can not go and afford these expenses so they can watch and save our time .Other side cinemas and theaters are also best option for culture and learn new things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding the economic importance of cinemas is vague, stating only that they are a 'source of income' without explaining how. The points about physical fitness and cultural exchange are also underdeveloped and slightly confusing. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more specific, logical explanations and concrete examples to support your claims rather than listing general ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Other hand' is grammatically incorrect and lacks a preposition. The use of 'Like' to introduce examples is too informal for an academic essay. Additionally, the logical progression within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the fourth paragraph where the connection between physical fitness, cultural exchange, and economic support is not clearly linked. More varied and precise linking words are needed to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'important', 'watch', and 'people'. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'fresh programs' instead of 'new content' or 'latest releases', and 'touch with our culture' instead of 'engage with our culture'. Some phrases are used incorrectly, such as 'The physical fitness are also maintain'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision, which restricts the score to the 5.0 band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the people argues', 'everyone have busy routine'), incorrect verb forms ('are come', 'are also maintain'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For example, 'When you can go theaters you meet other peoples' is grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex structures.
