Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of digital platforms versus the cultural and economic significance of cinemas. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the economic argument is supported by examples like Bollywood and Hollywood, the cultural argument is less detailed. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that the personal opinion is more thoroughly integrated throughout the essay rather than just mentioned in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For example, the sentence 'This eassay will discuss both the trends before explaining why believe that theatres and cinemas are unbeatable' is missing a subject ('I'). Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with attempts to use topic-specific terms like 'subscription schemes', 'production house', and 'financial benefits'. There are, however, several spelling errors ('availablity', 'eassay', 'audiance', 'lesiure', 'thier', 'accociated', 'encome', 'unchangable') and some awkward collocations ('engaging themselves to a seat'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary to move into the higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'sources are still have a fundamental role' (incorrect verb form) and 'Netflix is the one of the most famous' (unnecessary article). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. Focusing on consistent subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
