Student answer (Band 5.5)
These days some people seem to argue that the significance of movie cinemas and theatres are getting lower day by day as people can watch everthing online. On the other hand, others believe that the movie theatres and cinemas are still essential in various ways. However, I will discuss both these views and give my opinion.
In the first place, it would be quite interesting to note that there are several reason behind the decling of movie theatres and cinemas. one of them is the technology is approaching so fastly as people can watch any kind of entertainment show or movie online. One illustration of this is that, people can enjoy TV shows and news channel on the big LED screen while staying at their home and without spending time in ques and money. One of the negative factor is that people cannot be able to enjoy the video quality as movies theatres provides in cinemas.
To put this issue into perspective, the third most important point which is worth considering is that, the importance of movies cinemas which we can never deniy is that the theatres and the ques in cinema decide the film success rate economically. For Example, people often watch new movie continously decide the success of any film. Another major advantage of this side of the topic seem to be that, occasionally people go to cinemas on their holidays because they maintain their culture alive.
In Conclusion, I am convinced to believe that it is indeed a debatable issue which need further analysis and discussion. Howver, in the light of above-discussed arguments and example the advantages of watch online are overweigh its disadvantages in many aspects because it saves alot of time and money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, though the development of ideas is inconsistent. The arguments regarding the decline of cinemas are somewhat repetitive, and the explanation of their economic importance is unclear. For instance, the phrase 'theatres and the ques in cinema decide the film success rate' is vague and lacks logical depth. While the position is stated, the supporting arguments lack the necessary detail to fully explore the topic. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed point with clear, logical reasoning rather than listing general observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While cohesive devices like 'In the first place' and 'In Conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied mechanically or inappropriately. For example, the transition 'To put this issue into perspective' does not logically introduce the subsequent point about economic success. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the vague use of 'this side of the topic'. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring that cohesive devices serve to connect ideas rather than just acting as signposts will enhance the coherence of the writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'fastly' (instead of 'quickly'), 'decling' (spelling error), and 'deniy' (spelling error). The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'good' or 'important' rather than more sophisticated alternatives. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling. Expanding your range to include topic-specific vocabulary related to the film industry would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('the significance... are getting lower'), incorrect word forms ('fastly'), and awkward sentence construction ('people cannot be able to enjoy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focusing on sentence structure accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your score in this area.
