Student answer (Band 5.5)

The importance of theatres and cinemas has become a subject of intense debate in recent times. While some people argue that digital platforms entertainment are significant than physical entertainment, others believe that physical entertainment are still plays a crucial role both economically and culturally. In my opinion, although digital entertaining has its valid merits, I firmly side with the view that physical entertaining is more beneficial. This essay will examine both perspectives of this issue from social and economicl before presenting my opinion.

To begin with, a primary argument supporting the positive perspective is that the ticket price of cinema hall is low. This is primarily because every people goes to watch cinema without thinking of money and it increases social relation. For instance, a recent study conducted by Dr. Moshiur rahman Shuvo, a renowned flim analysist at Dhaka University, revealed that around 60% people of every ages still now watch movie by going to cinema hall or theatres.

Conversely, critics lighlight the opposing view, contending that online entartainment reduces social gathering. The main reason for this is that online subscription payment is too much high, that's why every people cann't afford to watch on digital platforms. A clear example of this is highlighted in a project led by Dr. Ahmed Kabir, a senior sociologist at Jahangirnagar University, which demonstrated that almost 40% teenagers and young generation are watching their favourite movie or serial to online.

From my perspectives, after considering both sides, I personally align with the opinion that physical entertainment are more convienent than online. This is due to the fact that practical work is better than any other type of work, that means it can connects people socially and reduces economical cost and also gives benefits to the low income people. Take, for example, the case of physical entertainment, where me and my friends meet every week and we saw diffierent types of movie in every week, it improves our friendship bonding day by day.

In conclusion, while there are valid arguments on both sides of the issue, I firmly believe that physical entertainment is more significant than online. Although online entertainment has its own benefits, I believe that increasing physical entertainment offers greater advantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that cinema tickets are 'low' is a subjective assertion that lacks a broader economic context. The supporting examples, while specific, feel slightly forced and do not fully explore the cultural or economic implications mentioned in the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should focus on explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments more deeply, rather than relying on anecdotal evidence or general statements about social bonding.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Conversely', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise (e.g., 'that means it can connects people'). The transition between sentences could be smoother to avoid a repetitive structure. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations. For example, you use 'physical entertainment' repeatedly, which is not the most natural term for 'theatres and cinemas'. Phrases like 'online subscription payment is too much high' and 'flim analysist' indicate a need for more precise vocabulary and better attention to spelling. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or idiomatic language limits your score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to media and economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'physical entertainment are still plays'), incorrect article usage, and tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'we saw diffierent types of movie'). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of plural/singular nouns, before attempting more complex structures.
