Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, technology is escalating at an alarming rate so individual have a lot of apps of entertainment but few people assume that theatres and cinemas are also essential both economically and culturally.I will elaborate both views in upcoming paragraphs.
To begun with, individuals have less time so they do not prefer to watch movies in theatres and cinemas by dint of this, they can watch anything like movies, serials etc in their spare time. Moreover, some individual don’t waste their time on commute as well as they also don’t feel comfortable outside because their are a lot of people and individuals want their privacy. Furthermore, nowadays there are different types of apps which are very fruitful for individuals and most of the apps are free to watch so people save their money due to this, people think now cinemas are not crucial.
On the other side, some people think cinemas and theatres are still important because it is source of entertainment because on the special ocasssions people prefer to spend some time with their family and friends so they love watch movies in theatres. Moreover, if people don’t go theatres or cinemas so it will impact on economic growth of cinemas and a lot of people become jobless because if people will not buy tickets so how their employees will survive.
In my opinion, cinema and theatres still plays important role in everyone’s life because it is ideal source of entertainment. It is advisable to say that, people should buy tickets of cinemas and theatres so this will not disappears.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic impact is mentioned but lacks depth or specific examples to support the claim. The points are relevant, but the explanation remains superficial, particularly in the second body paragraph. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or concrete examples, such as mentioning the unique social experience of a cinema compared to home viewing, rather than just stating it is an 'ideal source'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begun with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other side'. However, some of these are used incorrectly or mechanically. For example, 'To begun with' contains a grammatical error, and the transition 'by dint of this' is used awkwardly. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'if people don’t go theatres or cinemas so it will impact on economic growth'. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'apps', 'movies', and 'important'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'escalating at an alarming rate' (which is slightly misused in this context) and 'fruitful for individuals'. While the meaning is clear, the vocabulary does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophistication needed for a band 7.0 or higher. Focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to media and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'individual have a lot of apps' (subject-verb agreement), 'their are a lot of people' (homophone error), and 'if people don’t go theatres' (missing preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and basic sentence punctuation.
