Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals argue that in the era of advance technology, people can entertain at home by watching series on different applications and it reduced the value of theaters and cinemas. The other group, believes that such entertainment places are still important for economic and culture of a country. This essay will discuss the both views before presenting my perspective.
People feel movie halls lost their value in the modern life because waching movies online is convenient and easy to access. To go to cinemas individuals required a transport and they are strick to follow time table, these factors can make audience uncomfortable. Furthermore, in the cinemas we have to wait for our favourite play and sometime it becomes a really long period, and its makes a customer disappointed while using online websites, we can watch desired video at any time.
While the others believe theatres and cinemas are playing an important role in a society in terms of economically and culturally. When people go out and spend money to buy tickets and some snacks for timepass during film help to boost economy, since the seats prices are varies and it helps to generate more revenue from front or special seats. Besides, many theatres play historical movies that belong to our elders and watching movies with them are more enjoyable than solo; these films helps to know about our cultural values. For example, a very famous festival that are dominated by young generation but the movies related to it shows how enjoyable it was, can rebuilt the interest regarding to this.
To sum up, both views are considerably true because nowadays digital media provides to much options and everyone can access them from their place. While others highlighting the value of theatres as they took part in the growth of economy and culture, I strongly agree with this view that cinemas are important in our life to live long with our tradition that we even not saw.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of online streaming versus the economic and cultural benefits of physical venues. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The arguments regarding economic benefits are a bit simplistic, focusing on 'snacks' and 'special seats' rather than broader industry impacts. The cultural argument is also slightly vague. While the position is clear, the supporting examples could be more specific and sophisticated to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is well-structured and fulfills the task requirements effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'Furthermore', 'While the others believe', and 'To sum up', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, although some sentences, such as 'a very famous festival that are dominated by young generation', suffer from awkward phrasing that slightly disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the structure supports the argument well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'digital media', 'economic', and 'cultural values'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'people can entertain at home' (should be 'be entertained'), 'strick to follow time table' (should be 'strict schedules'), and 'timepass' (informal). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score as the vocabulary lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('a very famous festival that are dominated') and article usage ('the cinemas', 'the modern life'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect clarity, such as 'that we even not saw'. Despite these errors, the meaning is consistently clear, and the grammar does not prevent the reader from understanding the writer's points. A greater focus on proofreading for basic agreement and tense consistency would improve the score.
