Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer significant as individual can watch all the entertainment they want by the use of social media. While others believed that theatres and cinemas are still necessary both economically and socially. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe that cinemas are important as well.
One of the primary reasons is that both of the things are equally crucial in our society to preserve culture of watching movies.Nowadays many people prefer to watch movies from online rather than going in cinema halls. This is because the youth are being more isolated and they prefer to see all of this by sitting on their home. For example : In modern era everyone has their own smartphone, laptops, computers and other devices however most of the people thinks it is expensive to go and watch movies in hall rather than in a phone screen. Therefore, it is widely believed that watching movies from home helps people to reduce costs and time.
Another essential point to consider is that watching films in cinemas supports in both economic and culture issues. When we go to watch movies in cinemas it helps us to create a wonderful experience. This is because when we go to watch a film with families and friends we experience a lot of new things and it always remains in our heart as a remarkable memory. For example: While a person visits cinema hall with his friends and families he create memories with them. Thus, it always feels special to go cinemas hall to watch a movie than viewing it on a phone screen.
In conclusion, watching movies with our family and friends helps us to improve mental health and preserve the culture of watching movies in a big screen with lots of people watching it together instead of seeing it from our laptop screen.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding economic and cultural importance is mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with specific, concrete examples. The essay tends to over-generalize, particularly in the second paragraph, where the claim that youth are 'more isolated' is asserted without clear evidence. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed analysis and specific examples to support your points, ensuring that the economic and cultural aspects are fully explored rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'For example' and 'This is because'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'both of the things' in the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. While the overall structure is coherent, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph builds more effectively on the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'good', and 'special', which limits the sophistication of your argument. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'supports in both economic and culture issues' and 'watching movies from online'. While the meaning is clear throughout, the range of vocabulary is somewhat restricted, and there is little attempt to use less common or idiomatic language to convey your ideas with more nuance and impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'individual can watch' (should be 'individuals can watch'), 'prefer to see all of this by sitting on their home' (should be 'in their homes'), and 'most of the people thinks' (should be 'think'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around colons and commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to indicate a lack of control over more complex grammatical forms.
