Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is commonly believed that theatres and cinemas are now in todays digital world, not as much crucial as they used to be as the populace can watch these online for enjoyment, while others debate that they are economically and culturally important. In my opinion, I agree that digitalization has impacted such programs, however, I also believe that it should not impact the something that has an importance in economics and culture.
To begin with, the advancement towards the technology has made things so much easier for the people. The public use to spend hours in que to get a ticket for a movie or a show but now they can easily watch online without wasting time and money. The indivisuals don't have to spend time in travelling from their home to the cinema or theatre which could take hours as in some cases they might have to go city to city as not every city have the cinema opportunity. They now have Netflix, Youtube and many more options at home to watch in their own comfort level in a cheaper and more convinent way.
However, the argument of some other people that these are vital, economically as well as culturally is also valid. In economical terms, cinemas and theatres give chance to many unemployed people by providing them with jobs to generate revenue for the country which boosts our economy. Moreover, it benefits the surrounding businesses such as restaurants. In cultural terms, it helps people experience entertainment together which cannot be experienced alone at home when watching show.
In conclusion, i would like to say that no matter what culture and economic advantages are, if such kind of entertainment is available nowadays at home. then we should definetly go for it as comfort and convience is what matters the most.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural benefits, these points are brief and could be further supported with more specific examples or deeper analysis. Your position is consistent, but the conclusion contradicts your earlier acknowledgement of the importance of these venues by suggesting that convenience should always take precedence. To improve, ensure your arguments are fully extended and that your conclusion logically follows the points raised in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'However,' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas could be smoother. For example, the transition between the economic benefits and the cultural benefits in the third paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, which slightly affects the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digitalization,' 'revenue,' and 'convenient.' However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'not as much crucial as they used to be' and 'the cinema opportunity.' Some vocabulary is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise collocations that would elevate the response to a higher band. Focusing on learning word families and more natural idiomatic expressions would help improve your lexical precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'not every city have the cinema'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., the fragment 'if such kind of entertainment is available nowadays at home. then we should definetly go for it'). These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should aim for greater accuracy in complex structures and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules.
