Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that in the digital era, theatres and cinemas are not important as everything is available online. While, some argue that they are still important for both economically and culturally. In my view theatres and cinemas are no longer required as we can entertain us through online mode which is more affordable .
There are strong arguments in favor of this approach. Firstly, it is more a reasonable compared to theatres and cinemas . For example, we can buy monthly subscription at same price as one ticket and we can watch for multiple times, its like heven for users. In addition, people also not need to worry about poor services and they can also save fuel cost and travelling time. For instance, to watch movie in theatres you need to travel few moment earlier in order to reach. and also need to watch numerous amount of ads with low quality of services.
However, some argue that through cinemas and theatres many jobs will be affected who works for this cinemas and near food stalls. in addition, main reason can be culture of cinema like experiencing that felling and joy of theatres like 19.00 period and it also affects film industries as they not able to sell tickets .
In conclusion, while theatres and cinemas are affected both economically and culturally but in my view, people got benefited in this and they can still sell entertainment work online and like this whole entertainment industry get evolved in this digital era.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic impacts and the 'culture of cinema', these points lack depth and specific examples. The argument for online entertainment is better supported with points about cost and convenience, but the discussion of the opposing view is brief and lacks sufficient elaboration. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments, rather than just listing them. The conclusion is present but could more effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'While, some argue...' is grammatically incorrect, and the use of 'like' as a filler ('its like heven', 'like 19.00 period') disrupts the flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'people got benefited in this', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct grammatical context would help the essay flow more naturally and logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'entertain us through online mode', 'reasonable' (used instead of 'affordable' or 'cost-effective'), and '19.00 period'. The use of informal language like 'heven' (heaven) and 'like' as a filler reduces the academic tone of the essay. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and precise terminology related to the entertainment industry, while avoiding informal or colloquial expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people also not need', 'who works for this cinemas'), article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'to reach. and also'). The sentence structure is often repetitive, and some sentences are fragmented or poorly constructed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic punctuation and capitalization errors is also essential.
