Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary epoch, there is no denying that online OTT or many websites took huge place in everyone's life but cinemas can not be replaced. I will discuss both views and will give my opinion.
Nowadays, online websites like netflix, prime video, etc, otts took a huge space in everyone's life by giving thousands of new movies or old movies in a few amount for monthly subscriptions, it is beneficial for everyone who loves to watch movies, shows, drama, etc. Every human in this world if he watch movies definately wants movies in hd premium quality for free so subscriptions helps them and also people like me loves to watch shows that can only be accessed on netflix platform or whenever family get-together is planned everyone loves to watch movies at home so ott also helps in these types of functions.
On the other hand as i told earlier , Cinemas can not be replaced because whenever new movie is released in market no platform can play it it comes on cinemas first and after that it comes on ott after 2-3 months, so if someone was really waiting for the movie will prefer cinemas and secondly people plan movies nights with family or their partners to vibe together and to watch movie peacefully it will also help in outings and dinner together in malls or restaurant.
In conclusion, i would reiterate that both are important in everyone's life neither cinemas can be replaced and neither online platforms can be replaced both are 50/50 nowadays.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. While you mention the convenience of online platforms and the exclusive nature of cinema releases, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention economic and cultural importance in the prompt, but you do not explore these concepts in your body paragraphs. The ideas are somewhat repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief. To improve, ensure each body paragraph fully explores the implications of the arguments provided rather than just stating them. The position is clear, but it could be supported with more sophisticated reasoning to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'and also', 'so', 'secondly'). The transition between ideas is often mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'as i told earlier'. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is somewhat disjointed. To improve, try using a wider range of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on informal or repetitive terms such as 'huge space', 'vibe together', and '50/50'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'in a few amount' (should be 'for a small fee') and 'released in market' (should be 'released in cinemas'). To improve, focus on using more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. Avoid informal phrasing and try to incorporate less common lexical items that are appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Issues include missing articles ('in cinemas'), subject-verb agreement ('everyone loves', 'subscriptions helps'), and run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several instances of missing capital letters for proper nouns like 'Netflix' and 'OTT'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation errors. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will help you achieve a higher band.
