Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern era, some individuals say that theatres and cinemas are have lost their importance as people could watch any movies or videos on the internet while some argue that both are still financially and socially important. I believe people could watch online but theatres and cinemas have not lost their credit.
On the one hand, increasing advancement in technology and internet have had got more attention to enjoy series or films especially from younger generation. People can entertain themselves by watching videos on apps such as Netflix, prime video, Disney plus, and so on. For instance, nowadays, individuals are busy in their day to day work, children have to attend schools and colleges because of this they donot get enough time to visit certain place to enjoy new movies so, they prefer to view it online.
On the other hand, elderly people prefer cinemas and theatres over online platforms because they grew visiting such places and find it more exciting and entertaining than online apps. Furthermore, teenagers who want to experience togetherness while watching movies also chooses it.
Moreover, the government and businessman both are economically benefited as individuals pay prices for tickets to the owner and government rises tax from those businesses.
In conclusion, it is true that people can entertain through online but the importance of cinemas and these theatres are still same for people who wants more fun and a great environment to enjoy. Additionally, it benefits cultural of t.v industry and provide financial support.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding economic benefits is mentioned but lacks specific detail or depth, and the cultural aspect is only briefly touched upon in the conclusion. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or concrete examples. While your position is clear, the supporting arguments need more substance to fully explore the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover' to signal transitions between ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some sentences feel disjointed. For instance, the transition between the mention of busy schedules and the preference for online viewing could be smoother. Additionally, the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'these theatres' is used without a clear antecedent.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'online platforms', 'economically benefited', and 'cultural'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'lost their credit' instead of 'lost their relevance' or 'cultural of t.v industry'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'theatres and cinemas are have lost', 'government rises tax' (should be 'raises'), and 'people who wants' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors do not prevent communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate better control over complex structures and ensure that basic grammatical rules, such as subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency, are applied accurately.
