Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat uneven. The arguments for theatres are more detailed, while the points regarding online entertainment are relatively brief. The introduction is a bit informal and repetitive, and the conclusion lacks a clear summary of the main arguments, merely restating that theatres are memorable. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that both sides of the argument are explored with equal depth and that your personal opinion is more clearly integrated throughout the essay rather than just mentioned in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'not only that, the amount we pay...'. There are also issues with punctuation and sentence boundaries, such as the run-on sentence in the introduction and the comma splices in the second paragraph. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital era', 'economically', and 'culturally'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'foam of tax' (form), 'amezing' (amazing), and 'reclined sheets' (reclining seats). Some phrasing is also informal or unnatural, such as 'young youth' and 'available on finger tips'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you are using standard academic vocabulary rather than conversational expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures and contains frequent grammatical errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('theatres are very popular for the vibe and environment it having'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, particularly the misuse of commas where full stops are required. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors and the lack of complex, error-free sentences limit the score. You should work on mastering basic sentence construction and punctuation before attempting more complex structures.
