Beginning with the former perspective, the foremost justification is the houses are no longer famous. Due to online entertainment becoming more convenient and accessible. To explain it, people can see any content online in their form of need and comfort because there is a variety of content on online platforms. For instance, people do not have to wait anymore for the movie to come into the theaters and watch any of the films according to their need . As a result, people may prefer online instead of traditional cinemas, leading to a decline in cinema attendance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat uneven. The introduction is confusing, using terms like 'Homo sapiens' which is inappropriate for the register, and the thesis statement is grammatically unclear. While the body paragraphs present relevant arguments, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For example, the economic argument is mentioned but not fully explored. The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as it acknowledges the importance of cinemas but then focuses solely on the convenience of digital platforms, failing to clearly reiterate the stance taken in the introduction. To improve, ensure your position is consistent and arguments are more thoroughly explained with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. Phrases like 'Beginning with the former perspective' and 'Examining the opposing viewpoint' are used, but the internal flow of sentences is often disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'the houses' to refer to cinemas, which is confusing. Cohesive devices are present but often used in a way that feels forced or unnatural. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one will help achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary range is adequate for the task, but there are significant issues with word choice and register. The use of 'Homo sapiens' is highly unnatural in this context, and phrases like 'variety of proportion' are misused. There is also some repetition of basic vocabulary. While the student attempts to use topic-specific language like 'economic growth' and 'cultural identity', the overall control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoid overly formal or scientific terms that do not fit the topic of entertainment.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, 'film theaters are still well-known for economically and culturally' is grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with sentence fragments and punctuation, such as the sentence starting with 'Due to online entertainment...'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and avoiding sentence fragments will significantly improve the quality of the writing.
