Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this technological era, a few people argued that there is not much demand of theaters and cinema nowadays because people can enjoy the movies and video games at the home due to the digitalization, while other believed that theater and cinema still require for culturally and economically. This essay will discuss both the view state my opinion that theatres demand will decreased because of fast pace life and also it is easily available in some application.

On the one hand, in recent time people are very busy and have long working our due to which they want entertainment for reduce stress and to relax. Therefore, they invest some time to watching movie at home. For Instance, most of the people have subscription of Netflix and Hotstart like application through which they can access movie video games and many more based on their interest which save their time and money. I strongly agree with this view point, As high ticket and fix timing of movie which is less prefer by individual because they already spent money on subscription and also in wi-fi as well as on internet connection. This reduce the visit and spending time and money on going theater and cinema.

on the other hand, Cinema plays a significant role in enjoyment because there are few place to visit in day time because of the hot weather outside. As a result people prefer cinemas where they can spent quality and quantity time and enjoy snacks movie in cool hall. because of this point it will maintain continuous demand and will create any harmful impact on economy.

In conclusion, Cinemas play essential to take a break from long working hour, but due to the digitalization every one can access movie and play video games at their home so it will reduce the demand of cinemas in future but sometime due to the global warming there are a few place which people explore so the cinema will help to provide entertainment which maintain the value of theater and will not cause any drawback on economy as well as culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the decline of cinemas is well-supported by references to streaming services and cost-efficiency. Conversely, the counter-argument regarding the economic and cultural importance of cinemas is under-developed and lacks specific examples or depth. The conclusion is slightly repetitive and struggles to synthesize the two views effectively, as it attempts to argue both for the decline and the continued necessity of cinemas simultaneously. To reach a higher band, ensure that both perspectives are balanced in terms of depth and that the conclusion clearly reflects the main arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition in the final paragraph which feels disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the arguments lacks the sophisticated linking required for a higher band. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring they are used to create a natural flow would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You use basic terms like 'enjoyment', 'important', and 'demand' frequently. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'long working our' (hours) and 'fix timing' (fixed). While the meaning is generally clear, there is a lack of less common or more precise vocabulary that would demonstrate a higher level of lexical control. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to the entertainment industry and avoid repeating the same basic descriptors throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a few people argued', 'theaters demand will decreased'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately. Strengthening your control over basic grammar will provide a more stable foundation for your writing.
