Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the digital era cinemas and theatres lost their significance in society because the same movie is now available on online platforms e.g. Prime Videos and Netflix. While individuals argue that theatres and cinemas still have some financial and cultural significance in the society. I agree with argument that cinemas and theatres still have financial and cultural significance in the society.
On the one hand, the digital era comes with the new revolution for cinemas and theatres by streaming movies and shows on mobile screens therefore now people can enjoy their favorite movie whenever they want. The platforms like Prime Videos and Netflix have enormous audience about million of people consume content from these platforms with a pocket friendly subscription plans.
On the other hand, the cinemas and theatres have their own considerable rich history and memories. While streaming movie on your mobile screen not provide the experience of high quality audio quality e.g. Dolby Atoms and high quality video e.g. IMAX,3D, 4DX etc. Cinemas and theater create income for some people who are work their if we stop visiting cinemas then the people who work there face financial crisis.
To conclude, While streaming movie and shows on your mobile screens is much beneficial to go out and watch movies and plays in cinemas and theatres. It's a totally different experience for peoples and also it would be quality time with your friends. Thus, i agree with this argument that cinemas and theaters have financially and culturally significance in the society while these are a source of income for some family's.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting both sides of the argument and a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the economic argument regarding employment is mentioned but not fully explored with specific examples or deeper analysis. The explanation of the 'digital era' revolution is also a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or specific real-world examples, ensuring that the connection between the digital shift and the cultural/economic impact is more thoroughly articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'While streaming movie... is much beneficial to go out'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your cohesive devices will help the text read more naturally and improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'digital era' and 'subscription plans', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'people who are work their' and 'family's' (incorrect pluralization). The repetition of words like 'significance' and 'quality' suggests a limited range. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your word forms are grammatically correct in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'cinemas and theatres lost their significance'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'IMAX,3D, 4DX'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'While streaming movie on your mobile screen not provide the experience'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and sentence structure.
