Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this era of digitilization people were more likely to watch movies, shows or news on their phone, laptops and othe electronic devices and they avoids to visiting the entertaining places as it takes time and money. In contrast, other people contradicts this because they think these kind of places brings wealth and create jobs, and by cultural shows it makes the cultural values more stronger. In my perpectives, i strongely agree with the first statement as the advantages of first view outweighs the second views.

Modernization, have huge positive impact on our living as it improves our standards. Due to electronic appliances we can easily enjoy our time anywhere in the world, as it has no lomited boundries. Now people are engaged in their office, job or business so they don't have leisure time to spend with themselves or with their family , so nowadays there is less trend of going to threatres and cinemas for watching. Moreover, these kind of spaces are not tangeble ,like if a person living village and he wants to go to cinema with his friends then he can't because not every area have entertainment places. For instance, it requires money to purchase a tickets and some are also expensive if there is a famous performer in the show.

On other hand, some people are arguing that cinemas are producing jobs due to which more people will be employed and it reduces unemployment. Furthermore, it makes cultural values stronger by preserving them in form of art. In addition, it increases the economic values from the tickets and they made online websites for selling tickets which ultimately enhances the value. They can use this money for renovation of cinemas and threater. There are some benefits of these places but the digitization have more benefical values then this.

In conclusion, mobiles or other devices makes our life easier as it allows us to enjoy with our families at home and pocket friendly, whereas specially visiting cinemas burdenizes our accounts and waste our time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and cultural benefits, these points are not fully explored or supported with specific, convincing examples. The argument for the first view focuses heavily on convenience and cost, which is relevant, but the discussion lacks depth. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your points, rather than just listing them. The position is consistent throughout, which is a strength, but the overall task response would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In contrast', 'Moreover', and 'On other hand', to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'On other hand' (missing 'the') and 'in addition' used in a way that feels repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, which helps the reader follow your argument, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You use some basic errors in word choice, such as 'digitilization' (digitisation), 'tangeble' (tangible), and 'burdenizes' (a non-standard word). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'modernization' and 'unemployment', the overall lexical control is limited. There are several spelling errors throughout the text that occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that you are using words in their correct context rather than inventing terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people were more likely', 'these kind of places brings'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing ('they avoids to visiting'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the frequency of mistakes prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and pluralisation.
