Student answer (Band 5.5)

Mostly, people argue that in the up-coming life theatres and cinemas are not much longer important because people usually, watches entertainment shows at their home. At the other hand people also thought that cinemas and theatres are still crucial both economically and culturally. But in my opinion both sides of arguments are fine as, both gives people advantages but as well as, disadvantages.

Firstly, i also believe that in the future theatres or cinemas will not have enough popularity as, they have now. Because people have not enough money to waste in these kind of things they can bearly manage their daily expenses. Moreover, some people also don't have time to go to watch show in cinemas and theatres for their comfort they prefer to these shows at home. In addition, now everything is now available on internet and watching these shows at home consumes less time. Therefore, they also invest their time in any other kind of work.

Secondly, on the other hand mostly people argue that cinemas or theatres are still important for the society. If theatres are still remain in trend then the culture remain present in the future. While, theatres shows also represents the back life due to that we remain connected to our roots. Many people goes to the cinema as they want entertainment which they can not get at their homes. In addition, if people continue to go cinemas to watch movies or shows it will profit to the movie production. Moreover, the funds are raising because some in some movies government also invest to raising the fund bars.

Overall, in the conclusion, some people wants to remain connected to the roots they will continue to go the cinemas or theatres. While, on the other hand there are also some people who wants to remain at home for their comfort and for the money they wanted to save for the future. But in my opinion if they are staying at home they lose their interest in life as, they need to enjoy not on every weekend or month but atleast once in a while.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic importance is vague, mentioning 'funds are raising' without clear explanation. The personal opinion is present but lacks depth, as it focuses on the idea that people 'lose their interest in life' without providing a strong, logical justification. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-developed examples to support your arguments rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to link your points. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'But in my opinion both sides of arguments are fine as, both gives people advantages but as well as, disadvantages.' Additionally, some referencing is unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural, sophisticated structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'not much longer important' and 'these kind of things'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'back life' (likely meaning 'past' or 'heritage') and 'the funds are raising' (should be 'rising'). To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of entertainment and cultural economics.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people usually, watches', 'Many people goes'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors, particularly the misuse of commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
